Sustainability

At Hartford Flavor Company, we are proud to do things a little bit differently. We believe in the power of nature and that it is our responsibility to do what’s right for our planet.

We compost whatever possible through Blue Earth and recycle to minimize waste.

We proudly use American glass and reuse our bottles. Additionally, we encourage recycling and reuse through our return discount program:
This program is open to all customers (even restaurants!) with no limits – we love reusing bottles!

Both Wild Moon Lavender and Sage flavors are “garden-to-glass” – What exactly does that mean? Our Lavender and Sage are grown organically in the garden of our founder, Lelaneia Dubay, right here in Hartford, Connecticut.

The fresh, local ingredients are  harvested and brought to our organic distillery and turned into the delicious liqueurs we are so proud to call our own. Lavender is not just our signature flavor, but where it all began years ago, when Lelaneia began experimenting with flavor infusions in her kitchen.

We source locally whenever possible. This means:
Cucumbers used for our Cucumber Liqueur come from a farm in Glastonbury, Connecticut, which helps the local economy and our neighbors.

Our Cranberries are sourced from East Wareham, MA on Cape Cod, minimizing carbon footprint and helping support a fellow New England business.

In addition to our other efforts, we believe in recycling and repurposing packing materials whenever possible. This can be seen throughout our tasting room, especially in our living wall, which is constucted from wood salvaged from shipping pallets. This reclaimed wood can also be seen throughout our tasting room and on our bars!
